- Lizzie is 2 1/2.
- We're expecting twins.
- Sage just got home.
The fact that Sage is home means I have a little more time to blog. Well, at least till the twins come.
This week's top adventure was when the twins tried to come early. They're due at the end of February, which for twins means the goal is to get to the end of January. Being born this early is technically possible and they'd survive, but it will be so much healthier if they can stay in there a little longer.
At the advice of her doctor, I took Brooke to the hospital. The lady at admissions took one look at Brooke's pained face and asked "are you in labor?"
"Maybe," Brooke managed to get out through gritted teeth.
The lady looked at me and instructed me to take her straight up to Labor & Delivery and when she was settled I could come back and deal with the paperwork.
Labor & Delivery was full! They had filled all of their delivery rooms, all their backup rooms and all the spare rooms they could find on other floors. The poor nurses were in a state of chaos trying to deal with all of the sudden workload. And into that we came with Brooke in pre-term labor. I joked with the nurses that it would be seasonably appropriate to find us a garage or stable out-back.
They found us a place, established that the twins are doing fine and medicinally got Brooke's contractions to stop. That last part took well into the next morning, but in the end Brooke was sent home for the holidays with firm bed-rest instructions. Everyone's doing well and we'll be back on normal sleep cycles any day now.
Sage is home and loves playing with Lizzie. She can't get enough of the little personality and voice.
Ha pasado algo de tiempo desde la última
vez que escribí. Permítame resumir:
- Lizzie ya tiene 2 años y medio.- estamos esperando gemelos.
- Mi hermana Sage regreso de su misión este semana.
Ahora que no estoy escribiendo a Sage, debo tener más tiempo para escribir por el blog.
La
mejor cuenta de la semana fue cuando los gemelos intentaron venir bien
tempranos. Si solo tuviéramos un bebe, la meta sería en los fines de
febrero. Cuando son dos, es muy probable que llegarán en los fines de enero. el
nacer tan temprano técnicamente es posible y sobrevivían, pero serán más
saludables si esperan lo más posible.
El doctor nos dijo ir al hospital. La mujer en la entrada vio en la cara de
Brooke el dolor que sentía y le preguntó si iba a tener los hijos allí
mismo. Nos envió al departamento
correcto de una vez y me dijo que después yo podría regresar a cumplir los
documentos.
El hospital estaba llena - todos los
cuartos tenían pacientes. Les dije que
si no tenían lugar, tal vez tendían un establo atrás.
Pero nos encontraron un lugar aseguraron
que los gemelos están bien y con medicamentos pararon las contracciones. eso tardo hasta el día siguiente.
Después nos dejaron regresar a casa y
Brooke tiene que quedarse y quedar en cama lo más posible durante el próximo
mes.
